Jock Safari Lodge, a private concession in the heart of the Kruger National Park was recently honoured with the Concession Partner of the Year at this years’ 2009 Kudu Awards at a ‘Green Tie Event’ hosted by South African National Parks at Gallagher Estate in Johannesburg. It’s the second time that Jock Safari Lodge has been awarded a Kudu Award, as in 2007, Jock was awarded with the Business Partner of the Year award.
The Kudu Awards, running for the fifth year, recognise external stakeholders for their contributions and efforts to conservation as well their assistance in making SANParks a premier conservation agency in South Africa.
Jock Safari Lodge is situated in the southern area of the Kruger National Park at the confluence of the Mitomeni and Biyamiti rivers, half way between Skukuza and Kruger International Airports. The lodge is surrounded by magnificent trees and an abundance of bird life. From here our two track roads take you into 6000 hectares of exclusive traversing in the first private concession set in over two million hectares or 20 000 Square Kilometers of the Kruger National Park. Jock safari Lodge is named after a South African legend, Jock of the Bushveld. This canine hero of Sir Percy Fitzpatrick’s famous story of courage and loyalty has stirred adventurous souls for almost a hundred years.
