This Pre-school was started in 1995 and the building was donated to them from the local municipality.
The children's ages are between 0 - 5 and they have around 60 kids in this facility.
Parents who can pay for the school fees will pay R40 for 1 child and R100 if they require nappies. Most of the parents work on the fields far away from home and sometimes they can't afford even this fee.
The school is supposed to receive R10 000 per month from government but rarely does. Masakane has a principal, 4 teachers and 1 volunteer. The principal is Monica Simoyile. When the funding is available she will receive a salary of R1 500 and the teachers each R800.

Sinovuyo Day Care Centre consists of a small corrugated iron building on Church grounds in Paterson, Eastern Cape, South Africa. It is run by Principal Joni and a few volunteers. It is not government funded and keeps head above water by the small fee of R30/child / month.
When we started our work with them they were caring for 35 children but this has grown to close to 70 kids now.
Our volunteer program also supports this community greatly by actively spending time there on a regular basis ensuring much needed improvements get done.
