It is with heavy hearts and encouraging smiles that we bid farewell to Ranger Dave Olsen who has been such an instrumental part of the Jock Safari Lodge team for the past year. If you have ever been guided by Dave, at Jock Safari Lodge or our sister reserve Shamwari Game Reserve, you would've been awed by his incredible knowledge and respect for our natural world and his undertaking to show you how he sees it. His conservation messages do not fall on deaf ears. Thank you Dave, you're a superb guide, your deep passion for the natural world is reflected in the incredible images and stories you have shared with us at Jock Safari Lodge over the past year. Good luck with your studies in Cape Town and we look forward to seeing you on your study breaks!
A message from Dave:
It has been a real privilege and honour to have worked at and with the Jock Safari Lodge team over the last year! My life has been enriched in so many ways and I leave with so many memories and experiences I will take with me for the rest of my life. From the end of July I will begin my studies in Cape Town. I will be helping out during the holidays between semesters as one can never after working in the bush just walk away, it remains a part of you always. It has been a passion that has defined who I am. To all the fellow rangers whom Iíve rubbed shoulders with and worked with spending hours in the bush I salute you and thank you! To all you faithful loyal followers on our Facebook page I want to thank you for all your comments and kind words and remarks made on the photographs I have posted, it has been a pleasure to have shared with you my experiences while here at Jock Safari Lodge! I will from time to time be posting a few images on both Facebook and Flickr.
Yours in conservation,
